Ramana Maharshi and the path of inquiry

Ramana Maharshi was a great renunciate saint and sage of the 20th century. He was born in 1879 and lived until 1950.  Toward self realization he taught the path of inquiry via the question: Who am I? as a gateway to the root of self. The video link is to a meditation session guided by present day teacher Michael Taft in which he focuses the guidance in a manner similar to Ramana’s way.  Whether you’re a novice or more experienced meditator, if you have the patience to sit (or even lie down) through the whole thing, you’re going to hear and possibly experience something interesting. In a way there is nothing new here, Ramana was teaching the same thing more than 70 years ago but it is fascinating to hear/see an expression of his genius in our modern world. I think Michael Taft is an excellent meditation teacher. (see also Ramana Maharshi’s natal chart below)
